Claiborne Electric ready for Annual Meeting

Claiborne Electric’s members who attend the 2019 Annual Membership Meeting in Ruston on April 27 are urged to bring the Official Registration Card that will be received by mail in mid-April.

The card, as seen in the accompanying picture, has the words “Official Registration Card” printed on the front and back. Members are asked to bring the card to the Annual Meeting and present it during the registration process. The co-op employee who registers the member will take the card and enter it into a drawing for a $500 cash card.

According to Mark Brown, General Manager & CEO of Claiborne Electric, having members bring the card with them helps to quicken the registration process and help the area flow smoothly.

“Bringing the card helps our employee locate the member’s account quickly, and allows the registration line to flow quickly. These cards have dramatically reduced the time our members wait in line to register,” Brown said.

Members will also need a picture ID to register. The primary member on the account must be the one to register and present identification. If a spouse will attend the meeting without the primary member, both spouses must visit a Claiborne Electric office before the Annual Meeting to form a Joint Account.

Brown is encouraging members to attend Claiborne Electric’s Annual Meeting, promising a day of entertainment, information and excitement.

Door open for registration at 9 a.m., at which time breakfast service will begin.

“Our members have let us know that they are getting a little tired of our usual stadium hotdog meal, so we are making some changes this year and serving breakfast instead,” Brown said.

Claiborne Electric members will see a performance by nationally acclaimed Bluegrass group Darin and Brooke Aldridge at 10:30 a.m.

Members will also have the chance to win the grand prize for the meeting - a new Kawasaki Mule 4x4 utility vehicle. Members will be automatically registered to win the grand prize, along with several other great door prizes, when they register for the meeting upon arrival. All prizes will be awarded in a drawing that will take place during the day’s business meeting at noon. Winners must be present to win all prizes.

Brown said the day will also include some important business matters. He will address members during the business meeting at noon.

Fantastic national entertainment and a chance to win a Kawasaki Mule are just a couple of reasons for members to make plans to attend the 2019 Annual Meeting. Members will receive a gift just for registering. There will also be a bicycle giveaway for a few lucky kids in attendance.

The Annual Meeting is a day built solely around the members of Claiborne Electric. Doors will open for registration at 9 a.m. April 27 at the Thomas Assembly Center on the Campus of Louisiana Tech University in Ruston. Registration will continue until the business meeting begins at noon. Please make plans to attend the 2019 Annual Meeting.

“I look forward to seeing our members at the Annual Meeting,” Brown said. “It’s the day every year where we get to really interact and let them know how much we appreciate them. We’re looking forward to a great day, and our members who attend will be glad they did.”
