Double-Pole Double-Throw Switches

A Double Pole Double Throw generator switch, often referred to as a “flip-flop box,” allows a member to operate a stationary generator safely during times of power outages. These manual switches disconnect the member’s wiring from the Cooperative’s wiring so there is no chance of the member back-feeding power onto the utility wires and injuring a line worker.

The following options are available to the member:

  • 200-amp DPDT switch on pole at the time of original installation to new house: $239.95
  • 200-amp DPDT switch: $599.95
  • 200-amp DPDT switch installed on pole with meter loop: $999.95

For more information about a DPDT switch, contact a Claiborne Electric Member Services Representative.
