GPS inventory project wraps up in service area
Claiborne Electric General Manager and CEO Mark Brown would like to let Co-op members know that contract work for the GPS project has finished.
Global Mapping Solutions - the contract company that worked across the Co-op’s six-parish service area to take a GPS inventory of Claiborne Electric’s entire utility system - is finished with field work and will no longer be working in Claiborne Electric's service area.
“Over the past two years, the GPS company has worked out of every Claiborne Electric substations, recently finishing their work in Union Parish” Brown said.
The contract workers took a GPS inventory of every pole, transformer, substation and meter along the Co-op’s 4,300 miles of electric line in Webster, Claiborne, Bienville, Lincoln, Union and Ouachita parishes. This project will lead to more precise mapping, greater service reliability, and enhanced outage restoration for the Co-op's 24,000 meters.
Brown wants to thank members for being so courteous to the contract workers as they completed this important project for the Co-op.
