For members building a new home or converting from gas to electric home heating, Claiborne Electric will provide a rebate in the amount of $100 per ton for members who install an energy-efficient electric heat pump.

For residential members replacing existing electric heating with a new electric heat pump, Claiborne Electric will provide a rebate in the amount of $50 per ton.

Members may receive rebates for more than one unit, with rebates capped at five tons per unit. Details on this program and how heat pumps work can be found here.

For members building a new home and installing an electric water heater tank with a capacity at least 40 gallons, Claiborne Electric has a program to help members with the cost of the tank. Members can receive a $400 rebate for installing an electric tank water heater. This program is for new construction only.

Claiborne Electric also keeps a supply of 3,000-watt heating elements for electric water heaters. These elements are available to Co-op members who need them at no charge. Details on Claiborne Electric’s water heater program can be found here.
